COVID-19: 15 policemen, 3 CRPF personnel among 186 test positive in J&K, tally reaches 6422 | KNO

Srinagar, June 24 (KNO): The number of COVID-19 cases in Jammu and Kashmir mounted to 6422 as three CRPF personnel, a BSF man, 11 policemen and a pregnant woman were among 186 fresh positive cases in the UT on Wednesday. Officials told news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that among new 186 new cases, 80 were tested positive at SKIMS, 64 at CD hospital, 19 at JVC Bemina and rest at other hospitals. Among 186 new cases, 160 belong to Kashmir division while as 28 are from Jammu division, officials said, adding that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir division has reached to 4998 including 2900 recoveries and 78 deaths while as total number of positive cases in Jammu division has reached to 1424 including 918 recoveries and 10 deaths. The officials said that total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 2516 including 2020 from Kashmir division and 496 from Jammu division. With 176 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached to 3838 which is 59.45 percent of the total cases. "Cases tested positive in J&K include 2 from Kulgam, 29 from Srinagar, 35 from Shopian, 8 from Anantnag, 37 from Baramulla, 22 from Kupwara, 19 from Pulwama and 01 from Budgam, 2 from Bandipora and 3 from Ganderbal in Kashmir division while as 28 from Jammu division include 7 from Jammu, 2 each from Poonch and Kuthua, 3 from Udhampur, 4 from Samba, 8 from Rajouri and one each from Doda and Reasi," officials disclosed. Dr G H Yatoo Nodal officer for Covid-19 at SKIMS said that out of 3384 samples tested at SKIMS on Wednesday 80 were tested positive. Positive cases include 42 from Shopian, 17 from Pulwama, 08 from Anantnag, 04 from from Srinagar, 02 from Bandipora and one each from Kupwara, Baramulla, Budgam and Ganderbal, he said, adding that positive cases include 03 CRPF men from 44 Bn HMT, 10 cops four each from DPL Shopian and Diploma Awantipora and one from DPL Pulwama. Officials from CD hospital said that 64 including a cop from DPL Ganderbal and a BSF soldier from 102 Bn Trehgam Kupwara were tested positive at the hospital. Dr Reyaz Untoo Principal JVC Bemina said that out of 580 samples tested at the hospital, 19 belonging to Srinagar were tested positive. He said that positive patients include 12 year old male from Mufti Bagh Harwan, M-73yrs-Harwan, M-30yrs-Safakadal Zadi Masjid, M-50yrs-Safakadal Zadi Masjid, M-25yrs-Safakadal Zadi Masjid, M-65yrs-Safakad Zadi Masjid, F-38yrs-Safakad Zadi Masjid, M-30yrs-Safakadal, F-26yrs-Saidaporaiddgah, F-22yrs-Saidaporaiddgah, M-48yrs-Panthachowk, M-32yrs-Habakadal, M-64yrs-Bagi Mehtab, M-31yrs-Nowshera, F-30yrs-Daulatabad,F-37yrs-Batmaloo, M-23yrs-Batmaloo, M-65yrs-Lasjan and F-60yrs-Lasjan He said that 08 more patients were discharged from the hospital taking the tally of total discharged patients to 431 while as 133 more patients are undergoing treatment at the hospital. He further added that 17 normal were managed and 22 major surgeries of pregnant covid-19 positive ladies were conducted at the hospital. As per officials figures, 711 positive cases including 11 deaths and 489 recoveries are from Kulgam, 752 including 21 deaths and 228 recoveries are from Srinagar, 671 including 452 recoveries and 10 deaths are from Shopian, 622 including 6 deaths and 443 recoveries are from Anantnag, 670 including 14 deaths and 334 recoveries are from Baramulla, 482 including 344 recoveries and 05 deaths are from Kupwara, 280 including 235 recoveries and 01 death are from Bandipora, 387 including 163 recoveries and 04 death are from Pulwama, 347 including 153 recoveries and 06 deaths are from Budgam, 76 including 59 recoveries are from Ganderbal. In Jammu division, 318 including 240 recoveries and 07 deaths are from Jammu district, 217 including 150 recoveries and 01 death are from Udhampur, 213 including 134 recoveries are from Ramban, 203 including 117 recoveries are from Kathua, 132 including 60 recoveries from Samba, 118 including 87 recoveries are from Poonch, 91 including 01 death and 37 recoveries are from Rajouri, 71 including 54 recoveries and 01 death are from Doda, 36 including 24 recoveries are from Reasi and 25 including 15 recoveries are from Kishtwar. As per the daily information bulletin, 265,652 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while 39,599 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides that 2516 persons are in hospital isolation while 31 persons are under hospital quarantine. According to the bulletin, 175,758 persons have completed surveillance period and 47,660 persons are under home surveillance besides that so far results of 326,430 samples are available. Out of 326,430 the number of samples tested negative stands at 320,008 while as 6422 have been tested positive, among them 2516 are active and 3818 persons have recovered and 88 persons have died—(KNO)
